Veritas Institute for Integrated Theology (or as commonly called Veritas Bible Institute) submits to the Bible alone as the infallible rule of faith, life and ministry and derives from the rich doctrinal heritage of historic Christian faith passed on to us the apostles and the church fathers thereafter. We therefore comply with the Apostles Creed, Nicene Creed, Chalcedonian Creed, Westminster Statement of Faith, the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy and the Lausanne Covenant.

  1. THE BIBLE. All the sixty-six books of the Bible, in the original autographs, is entirely the infallible, inerrant, and inspired Word of God. This supernatural revelation of God is the supreme authority over our faith, life, ministry and the Church. The Bible, being the Word of God, has the power to save people and transform their lives. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4.12; James 1.21; Matthews 5.18; 23.29; John 8.31-32; Acts 17.11
  2. GOD. God, the maker of all things―visible or invisible, natural or supernatural, physical or metaphysical, is the Infinite, Eternal, Uncreated, Personal Spirit and Unchangeable in His being, and is fully Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent and absolutely Free, and therefore Sovereign over everything He made and in everything He does. Acts 17.24-25; Romans 1.18-20; John 17.3; 4.24; 1 Timothy 1.17; 6.15; Psalms 139.1-12; Daniel 4.32-35; 1 Samuel 2.3; Malachi 3.6; 2 Timothy 2.13; Exodus 6.3; 3.14
  3. THE TRINITY. There is One God eternally existing and manifesting to us in Three Persons―the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit―three Persons of One substance, power and glory―each distinct, fully God and yet united in One Godhead. Isaiah 44:6-8; 45:5; Genesis 1:26-27; 3:22; Matthew 28:19; Luke 9:35; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Deuteronomy 6.4-5
  4. JESUS CHRIST. Our Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father before anything is made, begotten―not made, being of one substance with the Father, equal with the Father in power, authority and glory, without whom nothing was made that was made, in whom all things hold together, who for the salvation of humans, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, who is truly and truly God, lived a perfect life among us, was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and conquered death on the third day, ascended to heaven, the only Mediator between God and man, and will come again in glory and judgment. 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:2; 3:4, Isaiah 53:4-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 1.1-3; 19:30; Colossians 1.15-17; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Hebrews 9:28; Revelation 1:7
  5. THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Spirit of God is a distinct Person from the Father and the Son but equal with them in divinity, power and glory, and is holy, sovereign, and life-giving, who eternally proceeds from the Father and the Son, convicts humans of sin, righteousness and judgment, effecting their regeneration and indwells in the believers effecting their sanctification, and glorifies the Son in His ministry. Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 3:16-18; John 14.15-17, 26; 16.7-11; 16.13-14; 7.37-39; Romans 8.2,11,14-16; James 4.5
  6. HUMANS. All human beings―both male and female―are God-made in God’s own image and were God-made co-regents of God’s creation but woefully lost their position and glory because of their rebellion against God became morally corrupt, estranging from God, their life-giver, thus deserving death as the punishment for sin, passing on sin and its punishment further to all generations. Though tarnished by sin, the human beings are God’s image bearers still, thus equally valuable and honourable. The unjustified destruction of any human being from conception to natural death (e.g., through abortion, embryonic stem cell research, cloning, doctor-assisted suicide, etc.) is wrong. Exodus 21:22; Genesis 1.26-28; 9.6; Romans 3.23; 6.23; James 3.9
  7. ATONEMENT. Since all have sinned, atonement is necessary for the remission of sins and the reconciliation of humans to God, which is done in the vicarious death of Jesus Christ on the cross for all the humans. Hebrews 9.22; 9.11-15; Mark 10?45; Romans 5.6-9; 1 John 2.2; 4.10
  8. SALVATION. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; John 1.12; 3.16;
  9. CHURCH. Christ has bought and established a visible church by shedding his very own blood, which is called to live in the power of the Holy Spirit under the authority of Holy Scripture and the headship of Christ, preaching the gospel of Christ, administering the sacraments, and exercising discipline. The Church consists of all the born-again believers, wherever they may be found. All believers are equal in Christ, whom they accepted as their Lord and Saviour, irrespective of their denomination, caste, creed, race or gender. The Church is the only true mirror image of the God of the Bible on the earth, thus is obliged to reflect the excellencies of God. Galatians 3.28; Ephesians 5:25-27; Colossians 1.18; Revelation 21:2; 2 Corinthians 11:2; 1 Peter 1.29
