Robert Cotton Mather (1808-1877) was a distinguished European missionary whose life and work left a lasting impact on the Christian mission in India. His heart for missions led him to India in June 1833 through the London Missionary Society (LMS). After initially ministering in Calcutta, he moved to Banaras in 1834. In 1838, Mather established a new mission station in Mirzapur, where he carried out extensive evangelism and ministry despite the challenges of India’s hot climate. With the unwavering support of his wife, Elizabeth, Mather also engaged in literary work, including revising the Urdu Bible translation and producing a Hindi commentary on the New Testament.

సాధు సుందర్ సింగ్ (1889-1929) సిక్కు మతంలో పుట్టి యేసుక్రీస్తును స్వీకరించి, ప్రముఖ క్రైస్తవ మిషనరీగా మారిన ఈయన భారతదేశ క్రైస్తవులకు సుపరిచితులు. ముఖ్యముగా, సువార్త నిషేదిత దేశాలైన టిబెట్, నేపాల్ వంటి దుర్భర ప్రాంతాల్లో పాదయాత్ర చేస్తూ రక్తము కారుచున్న పాదములతో, అననుకూల వాతావరణంలో కూడా పరిచర్య చేసిన గొప్ప సువార్తికుడు. ఈయన హిమాలయాలలో మొత్తం కాలినడకన చేసిన సేవ ఎంతో ఘనమైనది. కరడు గట్టిన బౌద్ధ సన్యాసిలకు, హిందూమత వాదులకు నేర్పుగా బోధించెడివాడు. ఈయన జైలులో వేయబడిన సందర్భాల్లో కూడా పౌలు, సీల వలె ప్రార్థనలు, పాటలతో ఇతర ఖైదీల జీవితానికి ధైర్య మిచ్చేవారు. అనేక సార్లు ప్రాణాపాయ పరిస్థితులను ఎదుర్కొన్నప్పటికీ, క్రైస్తవ విశ్వాసాన్ని ఏమాత్రము విడువలేదు.

Sadhu Sundar Singh (1889-1929) was born into a Sikh family, embraced Jesus Christ, and became a prominent Christian missionary. He is well-known among Indian Christians. A remarkable evangelist, he travelled on foot through challenging regions like Tibet and Nepal, where the gospel was forbidden, and ministered even in harsh weather conditions, with his feet often bleeding. His service in the Himalayas, entirely on foot, is particularly impressive. He skilfully preached the gospel to the hardened Buddhist monks and Hindu scholars, with great wisdom.

Timothy Richard (1845–1919) was a Welsh Baptist missionary to China, who influenced the modernisation of China and the rise of the Chinese Republic. Richard was deeply involved in humanitarian efforts, notably organizing famine relief during the Northern Chinese Famine of 1876–1879. He advocated for social reforms, including anti-foot-binding campaigns and gender equality. He focused on sharing the Gospel not only with common people but also with Chinese intellectuals and reformers. He Promoted a contextualized Christianity, presenting Christian truths in a way that resonated with Chinese philosophical and religious ideas.

George Verwer (1938–2023) was a Christian evangelist and the founder of Operation Mobilization (OM), one of the largest missionary organizations in the world. In the prime of his youth, he gave up wealth and promising future prospects to serve God. He became well-known for his unique approach to evangelism, showing how the Gospel could effectively work amidst diverse religious traditions. With a heart full of passion for missions and a deep sense of commitment, he dedicated himself to reaching people in remote and unreached regions with the message of the Gospel. He was a passionate preacher who fervently urged all believers in Jesus to embrace true discipleship.

Adoniram Judson (1788–1850) was an American Baptist missionary who played a crucial role in bringing Christianity to Burma (now Myanmar). He was among the first Protestant missionaries sent from North America to Asia. Initially part of the Brethren Mission, a student group, he read the Scriptures while on his way to India and became convinced that a believer should be baptized as a testimony of faith. Upon arriving in India, he and his wife were baptized before traveling to Burma, where they established the first Baptist mission. His co-missionary, Luther Rice, was also convinced by him and was baptized.
